Looking for ways to de-stress yourself can turn out to be just another stress.
‘Health retreats are how much!?’
‘How are there different types of meditation? I don’t get it’
Opinions like ‘stress doesn’t exist’
‘Meat is the source of unhappiness’
Wading through what feels like a never ending used car salesman pitch, and anxiety around which path to take will surely grow.
Ultimately we put the whole idea away for another day. We can't afford it anyway. We aren't doing so bad after all and if we have come this far without help we can reside to just keep on trucking on.
It's no secret that the pressures of life are constant and in a rapidly evolving society most people feel like they just can't keep up. No matter your background or circumstance there are always financial and societal obligations that will make you feel like you are in the middle of a turning vice.

Holistic approaches to wellbeing are growing rapidly simply because they work. Corporate entities and the education system are steadily adopting meditation, mindfulness and positive psychology as a means to extract top performance levels and improve overall attitude and behaviour. The results are stunning.
It makes sense that calm and thoughtful people are happier and more productive because they are not functioning with any level of anxiety. Most people don’t even know that they are operating under duress and have accepted negative feelings as simply being part of life.
Growing up we learn many things to survive but often we do not learn how to manage our fears, self-doubt and grief. If ignored or suppressed these emotional states can inflict damage on every area of your life without you even realising.
The human body is not designed to store negative emotions for life but to have them pass through from time to time. To reset your mind, therefore, your base emotions to calm, loving and curious is actually not that difficult. You don’t need coordination like you were learning Tennis or a scientific or mathematical mind that can solve equations.
A holistic approach takes the proverbial garbage out of your mind which naturally affects the way you see yourself and others. This leads to an overall improved sense of wellbeing and habit breaking and creating.

It is the ultimate step in self-love and care and as the world is catching on quickly it is not a hippy alternative to better mental health but rather an important responsibility towards ourselves and others.
